Join us for our Annual After Christmas Party and Yankee Swap. We will begin with guests arriving at 5:00 PM.
First we will mingle while enjoying our appetizers and pizza. The club will order the pizza, people should bring some appetizers, drinks or dessert to round out the meal. Suggested items include sweets, like cookies, cakes, pies, or other goodies, or bring a savory appetizer like wings, cheese/crackers, or mini quiches. After we’ve enjoyed the mingling and food, then we will have the Yankee Swap. For those who wish to participate in the Yankee Swap see details below.
YANKEE SWAP: Participation in the Yankee Swap is optional. This is our After Christmas Swap, so it is the "regifting" swap. Bring that tea cozy Aunt Mildred gave you or the Macaroni Sculpture of Joe Lewis that your co-worker gave you or the tenth candle you got. There are a lot of laughs at this Yankee Swap.
Here is the way we play... At first glance it is simple: you bring a gift, then you leave with a gift. The fun part is what happens in between.
1) Bring a wrapped gift to swap . 2) We each draw a number to determine the order of who goes first, second, third, etc. 3) When your number comes up, you choose a new (still wrapped) gift from under the tree and unwrap it and show everyone what you unwrapped. 4) You decide if you want to keep what you unwrapped, or “swap” it for one of the gifts some one else unwrapped earlier. 5) The person who had drawn #1 gets to swap last as they didn’t have a chance to swap earlier.
Notes: Sorry, no alcohol — the club doesn’t have liquor liability insurance.
